The Surfing Hippos of Gabon follows a baby hippo named Linus who's afraid to leave the safety of his lagoon to join the rest of his bloat as they play in the ocean. The manuscript is a reverso poem. It doesn't rhyme or have a meter. Instead, each line in the first half of the story is repeated in reverse order to make the second half of the story. So the first line of the manuscript will also be the last, the second line will be the second to last, etc. The story is based off of a real-life group of hippos that have developed a love of body surfing in the ocean at night. I've added some back matter with information on them, and on hippos in general.
